The Story of Mona
My journey with Arab Woman Today (AWT) began in March 2020, right at the start of the pandemic, when everything in life felt uncertain and overwhelming. I first connected with AWT through their Christian Facebook page. At that time, their programs had moved online, and I decided to participate in “The Tree of Roles” training. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I quickly realized that this wasn’t just another online workshop, it was a place where I could learn, grow, and be part of a community that truly cared about women like me.

Through the training, I discovered a deeper love for writing and communicating. As a radio host, I had always enjoyed connecting with people, but AWT helped me see how I could use my skills to inspire, empower, and lead. Later in 2020, I joined the Nourara program, which built on what I had already learned and gave me tools to express myself, engage with others meaningfully, and develop confidence in my abilities. Each session ignited something within me, and I began to envision how I could grow both personally and professionally.
My story with AWT didn’t stop there. In 2021, I became one of the first participants in the Authentic Leadership Training. I immersed myself fully in the program, showing commitment and a genuine passion for learning. The more I engaged, the more my relationship with the AWT team deepened. I felt a sense of belonging I had never experienced before. I remember sharing a short video recording as an ambassador among my audience, talking about my Nourara experience and encouraging others to take part. It felt incredible to inspire women, to see them believe in themselves because of what I shared, and to witness the ripple effect of empowerment.
AWT didn’t just provide training; they created a space for me to thrive. They supported me, offered guidance, and gave me opportunities to grow in ways I hadn’t imagined. Recognizing my progress and dedication, the team invited me to volunteer, giving me the chance to be a leader and facilitator in their life-growth program. This invitation left a profound impression on me, it was a recognition of my potential, and it fueled my enthusiasm to contribute even more.
As I stepped into new roles, I also began to reflect more deeply on my faith. The programs weren’t just about skills; they were rooted in spiritual truth. I found myself returning to scripture, praying more intentionally, and seeking God’s guidance in every decision. Verses like Jeremiah 29:11 reminded me that my future was not random; it was designed with purpose. AWT helped me see that leadership begins with surrender, and that true empowerment flows from knowing who I am in Christ.
Today, I am more than just a participant in AWT programs. I am an ambassador, a leader, and a woman who has found her voice and her purpose. The journey that began with a simple online training has transformed my life completely. I now understand that growth comes not only from learning but also from connection, courage, and the willingness to step forward and lead.
AWT didn’t just teach me skills; they helped me see the woman I could become. They empowered me to believe in my abilities, embrace leadership, and live with conviction. Through their guidance and encouragement, I transformed from someone curious about programs on a page to a confident, capable ambassador, walking boldly in the calling God placed on my life.
