Renad
Renad, a mother, shared her struggles during phone calls with ACCTS youth counselor. She is currently living with her family in Ma'an after a forced marriage at the age of 21, which ended in divorce after three months due to her husband's lack of respect and fear of abuse. Although her family pampers her, she feels trapped in her environment, unable to break free from their control. She continues to face judgment from her community for being divorced and is solely responsible for her son’s care as his father lives outside Jordan.
During their conversation, the counselor shared powerful insights about inner healing, emphasizing that true change begins with the individual’s willpower and awareness. Renad was encouraged to confront the emotional wounds from her past and not let them define her future. The counselor explained that change is possible by addressing current challenges without carrying the weight of past trauma, helping Renad understand that healing and growth are within her control.
This conversation had a profound impact on Renad, shifting her perspective. She realized that her circumstances didn’t have to dictate her future, and that change could happen with the right mindset and inner strength. This newfound hope inspired her to take small steps toward healing, knowing that change was not only possible but within reach.
ACCTS’s support and guidance gave Renad the confidence to believe in the possibility of a better life for herself and her son. ACCTS’s ongoing work in underprivileged areas in Jordan, as part of their 2025 goals, focuses on helping local communities overcome challenges through conferences, lectures, and training programs. Renad's story exemplifies the positive impact of this mission in empowering individuals and offering hope for a brighter future.
