Muna
Throughout her counseling journey, Muna shared her unique and challenging story. A Christian woman from Jordan, she married but remained a virgin, later seeking a divorce. She is still navigating the path toward freedom, waiting for a court ruling to officially document her separation.
Muna's struggles stem from her painful experiences, including the loss of her father. She has grappled with the absence of security and support, which became a central theme in her sessions. These moments focused on understanding God as a loving Father and Companion despite the difficulties she faced.
Her journey was marked by feelings of unworthiness, a distorted understanding of love and marriage, and low self-esteem as a woman. Her husband's harsh words, claiming she was not a "real woman," deeply affected her sense of identity. This wound required significant time and care to address. She also wrestled with anger toward God, believing He allowed her to marry someone who brought pain into her life.
In addition, Muna struggled with moments of speech hesitation and avoidance, choosing to withdraw rather than confront challenges in her daily life. Through counseling and intentional exercises, she began to experience transformation. She developed a closer, daily relationship with God, rediscovered harmony with her identity and femininity, and learned to care for and love herself inside and out.
Muna found courage to confront life's challenges, including expressing herself more confidently during her monthly court hearings. She redefined her understanding of forgiveness, extending it to herself and others, and embraced the principle of sowing and reaping, recognizing that God respects human choices yet remains faithfully present.
Muna's journey is a testimony to God’s glory. Her counselor suggests inviting her to personal development and identity workshops to further support her growth, especially as she continues her journey in Jordan.
