ACCTS' Journey
of Hope in Gaza

Luke 4:18:
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed."

In Ruba’s last visit to Bethlehem, she had the chance, through one of our ministry networkers, Mary, to meet a few women from Gaza who had been devastated by the ongoing conflict. These women carried the weight of unbearable pain—broken hearts, sorrowful spirits, and fury at the loss of loved ones and the destruction of their homes. God placed it on our hearts to be His instruments in comforting their souls, relieving their pain, and bringing the message of hope and salvation.

Among these women was Fatima. Her life had been profoundly altered by the devastating war in Gaza. In one heartbreaking moment, she lost her husband and all her children, except for her youngest son, Naeem—an 8-year-old boy born with a congenital heart defect.

Overwhelmed by grief, Fatima was left with nothing but her son and the weight of an unimaginable future. She had lost her family, her home, and all that she owned, leaving her burdened by loss, limited resources, and the responsibility of caring for Naeem’s fragile health.

In the midst of her despair, Fatima found a lifeline through her connection with ACCTS and Ruba from Arab Woman Today. Through online conversations, Ruba became a compassionate presence, listening to her anguish, offering heartfelt prayers, and encouraging her to cling to hope. Fatima began to experience the comfort of Jesus through the prayers and support provided by ACCTS.

When Ruba later traveled to Bethlehem, she met Fatima in person, spending time with her, praying for her, and sharing the Word of God. These moments of fellowship and discipleship allowed Fatima to release her pain and begin rebuilding her inner strength. As her faith grew, she found peace in the knowledge that Jesus was with her

Now, Fatima stands as a testament to God’s transformative power. She openly speaks in church about the salvation she found in Christ and how He has filled her life with hope, even after losing everything. She proclaims, “I have lost all of my family members, but I know that Jesus is enough for me. He is my family and everything I have. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”

Through the ministry of ACCTS, Fatima discovered the comfort and healing of Jesus Christ. She found a new purpose in her faith and now serves as a beacon of hope for other women facing similar trials.
