Session 1: The one and only

The Scripture is Divine Authority. It is God's breath that provides us with instructions to live according to His Design.

In today's world, we often consume quick-fix spiritual, psychological, and emotional "meals" that offer temporary satisfaction but ultimately lead to addiction and harm.  These fleeting indulgences can create harmful habits and mental programming that we mistakenly view as correct without critically examining their contents, origins, or  underlying motives. We remain unaware of the ingredients that make up these "meals" and their true effects on our well-being, leading to a cycle of dependency and      potential harm.

 The participants need to know:

 • Affirming the divine inspiration and authority of the Scriptures. The term "breathed out" means that the Scripture is inspired by God, originating from Him. The Bible is  not a human creation, yet it is divinely inspired, making it authoritative and trustworthy for matters of faith and practice for all aspects of our life for all time. This divine  inspiration and authority of the Scriptures is not just a belief but a fact that we can rely on, giving us reassurance and confidence in our faith.

 • The importance of discernment and critical thinking in what we consume spiritually, psychologically, and emotionally. Just as we carefully consider the ingredients and  nutritional value of the food, we eat to maintain physical health, we should also evaluate the sources and content of the ideas and beliefs we accept into our lives for our  spiritual growth. The Scriptures, viewed as the "breath of God," offer a stable and reliable source of guidance and truth amidst the transient and potentially harmful  influences of the world. By grounding ourselves in the wisdom and teachings of the Scriptures, we can cultivate a solid foundation for living according to God's design  and experiencing true fulfillment and flourishing in our lives.

 • Our goal is to affirm to participants the inspired and beneficial nature of Scripture. It serves to deepen believers' understanding of God, challenges and corrects them,  and provides guidance for living in accordance with God's will. We seek to remind them of the transformative power and purpose of God's Word in shaping both  individual lives and the collective doctrine of the Christian community, encouraging consistent and meaningful engagement with Scripture. This transformative power of  God's Word is not just a concept but a reality that can bring about profound changes in our lives, giving us hope and inspiration for a better future.
